We hope you like our latest creation, "Belindy" our vintage inspired egg painting bunny. Belindy is one of our recycled bunnies, made from a recycled brown wool skirt that has tiny pink dots on it. Her face is made from wool, her cheeks have been attached to her face using a felting technique. She has black button eyes, carries a "paint stick" and beautifully painted, polk-a-dotted wool egg. Her neck is trimmed with antique lace and is embellished with an antique button. "Belindy" is one of my original designs and will come to you signed and dated, with a rusty heart pinned to her, indicating she is a Fiddlestix Designs original. What a cutie! Spring is just around the corner and this little blue bird radiates Spring with her red wool polka-dot umbrella and wool, potted daisy, fresh picked in the Spring rain. She is a whopping 10 inches tall, including the pincushion she sits upon, while trying to keep dry and out of the water puddles. She is made of turquoise blue hand dyed wool, has black button eyes and has a purple feather springing from her head. “A Sign of Spring” is handmade by me, Laura Hakes, the original designer and will come to you signed and dated, with a rusty heart on your blue bird’s wing, indicating she is an original Fiddlestix Design. Wouldn’t she look cute sitting on your favorite sewing machine, keeping you company while busy at work. This is my interpretation of a Pleated Woodpecker. She is approximately 33” long, is hand painted and distressed, has antique shoe button eyes and a genuine antique rusty barn nail for her beak. She is wearing an off the shoulder, polka dot dress, with a checked collar to match her pantaloons. On her collar, she wears a vintage earring for a broach. Her shoes are painted and have been embellished with vintage pearl earrings. Her bird house has been made from a split log and shingle, I salvaged from an old shed my husband and son tore down last Summer. She is anxiously “Awaiting the Spring Thaw”, as are all of us here in Iowa. She is handmade by me, Laura Hakes, the original designer and will come to you signed and dated, baring a rusty heart on her collar, indicating she is an original Fiddlestix Design. She is one of a kind and is quite a conversation piece! I can see her sitting in a favorite chair on ones porch, listening to the birds chirp announcing Spring’s arrival. Nothing says love like a bouquet of dandelions. I remember picking dandelions for my mom, when I was young. You would have thought I handed her a bouquet of gold, instead of weeds. “For My Mommy” includes a fully dressed 12” mommy rabbit, and a 7” bare naked baby bunny, with a beautiful bouquet of dandelions for his mommy. These adorable bunnies are made of heather felt, have been stained to give them dimension, have beady little eyes and embroidered noses.
