I have been a small business owner for over 20 yrs and have loved every minute of it! Being a Folk Artist has kept me busy over the years but not as busy as I have been the last 7 since I have been making soap! Having a medical background has afforded me the knowledge to formulate my own patented and luxurious soap recipe. Unlike any other, you will never go back to your usual "beauty bar" after using a bar of Sweet Harvest Farms Soap!

Authentic African Black Soap

Produced in areas across West Africa, African black soap is a mild and wonderful cleanser that can be used on the entire body. It’s been said that it can be used for acne, helping the discomforts of eczema, psoriasis, itchy scalp and sensitive skin in general.

Having been around for centuries, like most other soaps, it’s a mixture of oils, waxes, vitamins and ash. The absence of lye, traditionally used in soap making, makes African Black Soap much softer, with a crumbly and uneven surface. Real African black soap is never uniformly black, and if you find one that is, it’s probably not the real deal. Real African black soap varies in color from brown or beige to gray or combination of all three.

This color and texture comes entirely from the way the soap is made. Plantains are rich in essential nutrients and oils including vitamins A and E (which are wonderful for your skin) are roasted and dried. Palm oil, Shea Butter and Coconut Oil is then added, blended and cured.

Recipes are closely guarded by each African tribe, are hard to come by and just as difficult to use. Remember-Many (but not all) African Black Soaps that are in the United States often contain very little of pure black soap, with additives that only take away from the original recipe. Many that sell products such as liquid black soap and shampoos more than likely have only a small amount of true black soap in them. Some companies even add black dyes to deepen the color only indicates it is probably not real Black Soap.

Don't let the "putty like" texture and primitive look of this soap fool you! Due to its texture you don’t want to get the whole bar of soap wet at one time. You can easily cut the soap into smaller pieces with a butter knife. To use, simply take a small piece of soap, dampen and mold in your hand and use with or without a wash cloth and bathe as desired. Black soap lathers extremely well, and a small amount will last a very long time.

Whipped Body Scrub (Polish)

You will think you're washing with delicious mousse! When was the last time you found “whipped” body scrub? The texture and fluffiness of our whipped body polish is a definite treat!

Body Scrubs are amazing for your skin but there are some things to keep in mind before using these types of what the industry calls “skin rejuvenating” products. It’s best to place 3-4 scoops of the body scrub onto your wash cloth using the scoop provided before entering the shower. The reason for this is to keep moisture out of the body scrub container. Introducing water or steam to the container itself can shorten the shelf life and cause bacteria to grow! After stepping into the shower, rub the scrub in circular motions over your body. Gentle stokes will do as too much pressure could irritate or damage your skin. It is best to use something other than your hands. DO NOT USE BODY SCRUBS ON YOUR FACE OR NECK! Your skin is too thin and tender to use this type of scrub. There are facial scrubs that you can purchase that are intended just for your face.

DO NOT use on any open wounds, cuts, open sores or private areas that may be sensitive to the scrub.

Using a body scrub not only gets rid of dead skin cells but will also ready the skin for what many consider optimal moisturizing which is in the scrub itself. The whipped body scrubs, by S.H. Farms, are original recipes and are not made anywhere else! Using our recipe to whip the scrub takes extra time and effort but is one that we insist on doing as it is not only easier to use but makes it easier for the nurturing oils used to penetrate your skin for optimal effect!

NOTE: Because the body scrub contains various oils your tub or shower can become slippery so please use extreme caution entering, exiting and during your shower time in your bath or shower stall. Using any bath cleanser should remove oil residue.

REMEMBER - Very little is needed to do the trick. DO NOT USE ON YOUR FACE, NECK OR PRIVATE AREAS. Using once to twice weekly is all that is necessary!

Bath Salts

Combining sea salts and water has been the hallmark of therapeutic treatments for hundreds of years. Spas, Sports Therapy Clinics and even Dermatologist use water therapy for their patients. Many health professionals use Bath Salts for patients with psoriasis, eczema and other skin ailments. Estheticians recommend the use of a sea salt bath to clean pores and to detoxify the body. Even cancer patients use water therapy to help deal with the rigors of radiation treatments.

Hippocrates found the therapeutic qualities of seawater by noting healing effects it had on fishermen whose hands were marred and cut by their everyday life. Evidently, seawater not only lessened infection but also supplied pain relief. The medical industry now says that sea salt therapy is an effective treatment that aids in the rejuvenation of cells and also promotes a healthy exchange of minerals and toxins between the blood and the water.

Dead Sea Salts are made up of only 8% sodium chloride with a high percentage of magnesium, sulfates and potassium thus aiding, in what others say, is the treatment of common dry skin conditions to include reducing pain and inflammation from arthritis and rheumatism. Having a high mineral content is said to have cleansing and detoxification effects on the skin.

Mined from deep within the Himalayan Mountains, Himalayan Pink bath salt is known worldwide and considered the "king" of salts. It is considered by many to be the purest salt on earth with immense therapeutic properties.

White Kaolin Clay is found in almost all powdered and dry cosmetics. It is the mildest of all clays and is suitable to add to products created for people with skin types including those with sensitive skin. Professionals say it helps to stimulate circulation while gently exfoliating and cleansing the skin. Its natural adsorbent properties makes it a must in hygiene products and is found in soaps, scrubs, deodorants, facial powders and masks.

All the ingredients used, including those not mentioned here, were used in S. H. Farms' recipe because of their known therapeutic properties. Like all other S.H. Farms products, recipes are our own.

Add bath salts under the running water in your bath. Stir bath to make sure all salts are dissolved. Stepping on an un-dissolved granule could be "ouch"! Sit in bath and relax! Some scents used are relaxing while others invigorating.

NOTE: Because these body salts contain various oils, your tub or shower can become slippery so please use extreme caution entering, exiting and during your time in the bath tub. Using any bath cleanser should remove oil residue.

All Natural H-Spot Dog Allergy Ointment

This all natural ointment for your dogs skin contains, what many consider, soothing & healing properties. This S. H Farms original recipe was formulated by CJ to help heal a dog she rescued that had skin allergies so bad that there was no hair left on its entire back! After a few days worth of applications, hair was growing back and scratching ceased!

This ointment DOES NOT contain steroids or chemicals of any kind and because so little is needed to see results this 8 oz container can last up to a year or more!

Instructions: Wash dog with S.H Farms Dog Soap. While dog is STILL WET apply ointment with small basting brush or finger tips and massage into skin. You can add a tiny bit of water on skin if needed. Having your dogs skin wet is necessary so that as water is being absorbed the ointment will also be absorbed. Allow to air dry. Because there are no harmful ingredients of any kind you may use ointment up to 3-4 times a day. Remember, very little is needed so this container will last for many months. (I have been using the same container for almost 1.5 yrs!)
