Prim Nest :. Creative Blessings

Welcome to my site! I'm Deb Walker and I live in the northwest burbs of Chicago with my hubby of 28 years and our fun kitty, Charity. We're empty nesters, giving us time to pursue our passions, mine is quilting. I teach part time at a local quilt shop, I love designing quilts and helping others learn and grow in their quilting skills. I love to spend time in my studio playing with fabric, creating items for fall craft shows, my wholesale adventure and Prim Nest!

My photos make my items look bright but they coordinate beautifully with a prim home. I photographed them in good light so you can see the attention to detail I've given to each of my creations. My items are made to last, I use quality fabrics from quilt shops. Good fabric makes a huge difference in the look and feel of a quilted piece.

Americana Angel

This cutie would look great hanging from a peg or tucked in a cupboard, or get several and use for bowl fillers.

An original design, she measures 8" wide and 4" tall, needle-shaped nose with mis-matched button eyes and aged to perfection.

The blue star fabric may differ a bit from what is shown, based on availability.

She is lightweight and can easily mail in a bubble envelope to save $$ on shipping.

Primitive Chunky Little Runner

This quilt measures 21" long and 17" wide. Made with primitive looking civil war fabrics it is sure to look beautiful in your home.

Nice size for a table or cabinet top.

This is from a pattern by Kathleen Tracy, love her little designs!

This has been machine pieced and quilted with the finishing of the binding done by hand. Don't you love the two color binding? It adds a touch of fun to the quilt.

Clothesline Quilt

This sweet little quilt is one of my favorites. Wouldn't it look great in your laundry or mud room? It reminds me of simpler times.

This is a Renee Plains pattern, made with civil war reproduction fabrics from one of my favorite quilt shops, Pieceful Gathering in Fox River Grove IL.

It measures about 22" wide and 17" tall...it has rings on the back for easy hanging.

It has been machine pieced and quilted, the finishing of the binding has been done by hand.

Skinny Runner for Little Places

I love the size of this little runner, it's about 7 1/2" wide and 27 1/2" long. The perfect size for small spaces like a coffee table, cabinet/hutch, sofa table, mantle, or any space where a bit of color is needed.

Made from black and cream civil war reproduction fabrics, the rows are actually leftovers from blocks that I had made. The pieces are 1 1/2" square, pretty small and very pretty.

If black and cream don't do it for you, I'll be happy to make one (50% deposit required) in one of the following color ways...reds/creams...blues/creams...browns/creams...greens/creams... fall colors/creams...Christmas colors/creams or multi-colors/creams.

The quilt has been machine pieced and quilted with the finishing of the binding done by hand.

Teeny-Tiny Checks Quilt

This little quilt has A LOT of pieces....217 of them!

The little pieces in the colorful nine-patch blocks measure 1/2"....the half-square triangle blocks that border the checkerboards are only 3/4".

I just love this quilt! The design is from Lisa Bongean, love her stuff!

The quilt measures 12" square, made from some of my favorite civil war reproduction fabrics by Jo Morton. Machine pieces and quilted, binding was finished by hand.

M O M Pillow

Who can't identify with the sentiment on this pillow!

It's a big larger and 9" x 6", a nice size to set in front of other pillows or tuck in a cupboard.

The saying has been printed on fabric, the border and back have been quilted and then the pillow was stuffed with polyfil.

Set of 4 Magnets

These magnets are about 5" long and 1" tall. Designed by me, they are printed on card stock, laminated and have a 4" long 1/2" wide magnet on the back. These magnets can each hold up 3 full size sheets of paper, they are strong.

The set of four shows some of my favorite "reminders"...be aware of my blessings, remember Jesus loves me, be filled with Faith, Hope and Love and serve Him.
